Mentor a Child
A mentor is an adult who, along with parents or guardians, provides young people with support, counsel, friendship, reinforcement and constructive example. Mentors are good listeners, people who care, people who want to help young people bring out strengths that are already there. Mentors spend time each week with their matched student for one year. We match mentors with middle and high school students.

Build a Backpack
Help support the Build a Backpack campaign, our annual school supply drive.  This statewide initiative combines the power of the CIS state network along with generous support from our corporate partner, Walmart, to get necessary school supplies to students in need.  Volunteers are needed during July and over tax free weekend in August to collect, sort and deliver supplies.

Grants Committee
Occasionally the CIS-CC Board needs community volunteers to help review proposals and recommend funding decisions for the foundation’s grants programs.

Special Events Committee
Throughout the year the CIS-CC Board needs community volunteers to help with special events such as our golf tournament and When Pigs Fly BBQ Festival.
